I’m very proud to tell you about my collaboration with IKEA! If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you might have seen that I shared the article that is on STUDIO by IKEA about turning your home into a cat paradise! On the 8th of August, it’s “World Cat Day” and IKEA asked me to create some original cat hang outs with their products, also well known as an IKEA Hack. It was so much fun to work on this project and I’m very pleased with the result. Off course I have a lot to thank to my cat Def, who did a great job whenever I needed him to pose for the camera! He’s a natural…
The first IKEA Hack that I did was a little cat house made of cardboard that was left from one of the products that I was using for another hack. It’s no secret that cats are crazy about cardboard boxes and whenever they get a chance, they hop into a box to take a nap. Whenever I get a package delivered at home, my cats are just as happy as I am because I often leave the boxes lying around for a couple of days for them to play with it. However, a cardboard box in your home is not that pretty to look at so I decided to make it a little more stylish.
First I drew all the pieces that I needed for the house on the cardboard. Two sides, the front, the back, and a roof off course. I used a round coaster to draw the front opening. For the roof, you can just use a big square and fold it in the middle. Cut out all the pieces and attach them to each other with tape on the inside so you won’t see anything on the outside. I decorated the house a little bit with the cool Glodande tape and added a soft yellow blanket to make the cat house extra comfy. Def was very curious and when he found a comfortable spot, he felt right at home!
