In my previous blog you could see my make-over plan for the living room. I was not completely happy with some parts of our living room… There was just something missing. I was inspired by the ColourFutures ’17 trend called “Shared Individualism” and the colour palette that came with it. With the help of making a moodboard & using the Flexa testers I finally decided to go for a pink wall in our livingroom! I painted the wall behind our pink dresser in the same colour called “Oud Roze”. The tv cabinet got a make-over too with the colour “Caramel Fudge”, doesn’t that sound yummie? I used the colour “Flower Bulb” to paint some flowerpots so they would match with the rest of the colours. Here you can see the “before” and “after”!
Much better right? I think the pink wall gives our living room such a warm glow! Next to the pink dresser, I created a little reading corner with the vintage armchair, a new golden floor lamp and some decorations & plants. The rattan stool and baskets together with the tropical plants are adding a bohemian twist. I removed the leather magazine holder from the wall and replaced it with a vintage botanical illustration I thrifted some time ago, a framed butterfly that I found on the flea market in Cape Town, and a pretty monstera hanger that I got from my sweet friends. Maybe this cosy corner will make me take some more time to relax and read a book or just browse through some magazines…
I replaced some plants with more tropical ones, off course the replaced plants found a new spot in my home. The palm called “Cycas Revoluta” makes me think of summer and the “Cocos Nucifera” couldn’t be more tropical because the plant is actually growing out of a coconut! At the florist I got a Monstera leaf which I think is always pretty on its own in a simple glass vase… On our coffee table I added a marble vase with some pretty tropical pink flowers. I think the living room is now more complete and the colours are blending in with each other. I’m very happy with my new pink wall and colourful living room! As you can see, pink is always a good idea! Don’t hesitate to let me know what you think!
